Juan José Hernández Herrera

Being a medical student in Colombia represents not only one of my greatest personal achievements, but also a significant milestone for my family. My growing environment was marked by a lack of opportunities, especially considering that I could only count on my mother for support. Unfortunately, job opportunities for women have always been limited by a stigma rooted in society.

Despite the adversities, I persevered and, over time, great opportunities opened up in my life that have allowed me to reach the point where I am today. I have the great fortune to be able to say that I study at one of the best universities in this country, and my experience is further proof that no dreamer is too small and that no dream is too big.

Thanks to the OCMAES Foundation, I have the opportunity to give back to Colombian society for everything it has given me. I am committed to sharing my knowledge and effort to gradually contribute to the transformation of the society in which we live.
